Students’ Daily / Weekly Assignment

As an elementary school we have an official homework policy consisting of daily reading in both Indonesian and English and daily or weekly assignments, depending on grade level, that are expected to be done at home. The homework will be meaningful and related to academics but homework also teaches discipline, responsibility and organization.

Assignments are based on topics that are being introduced and also function as a student review. The other aim of assignments is to teach students how to be responsible and manage tasks that are given by the teacher. All NBBS students have a Reading Log / Agenda. As students enter Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6) emphasis is placed on teaching students how to use an agenda to learn personal organizational and time-management skills. Parents are encouraged to actively participate in various at-home reading activities. For that reason, parents are encouraged to establish a quiet study time at home each evening for reading and/or homework purposes.
